After suffering from panic attacks and finally got healed, I’ve become more and more interested at the disease, its causes and types. After reading more information about it, I saw that a great number of pregnant women are suffering from panic attacks.
I’ve recently read a great book of dr.Csernus Imre, a famous hungarian psychiater. In the book, the doctor talks about men-women and child-parents relationship and why problems appear in these relationships.
I found the book extremely interesting and very useful, so I’m gonna share with you some thoughts from it, mainly because it is closely related to panic attacks pregnancy.
Relationships are always based upon trust. We trust our partner and he trusts us. If the trust is gone in a relationship, the basis of the relationship is gone and the ones involved in the relationship are definitely heading in the most wrong direction. The trust in a relationship is just as important like the foundation when building a house.
If a house has a solid foundation, it will resist rain, wind and snow without big problems. But if the foundation is weak, the first bigger wind will blow the house apart.
The doctor also says that the love between a couple is just like a beautiful flower. The couple takes care of the flower, so it grows and becomes more and more beautiful. But after a while, the man or the woman thinks he or she doesn’t water the flower, because the other one will do it. So none of them waters the flower. Flowers need water, so the beautiful flower fades without water.
The couple will see that the beautiful flower has faded and will water it, trying to revitalize it. But the beautiful flower is already dead and will not grow again, no matter what they do.
You will ask what this sad story has to do with panic attacks pregnancy. I will explain it.
The trust, the most essential element of love can be lost in lots of ways. One of them, and also the most common cause is to pretend that we are fearless while we aren’t. I’m not talkig about physical fear, but about the fear of manifest our feelings. This can affect both men and women.
Manifesting our feelings isn’t as easy and natural as you might think. It includes the bravery of saying anything you think or anything disturbes you. It also includes the bravery to concede that you were wrong, and assuming responsibility for your decisions.
If you don’t have the bravery to say anything you think (I’m talking about all kinds of subjects, including delicate ones, for example you aren’t attracted to your partner anymore, because he or she gained weight), you are only pretending that you feel great and are fearless.
In reality, you don’t feel great at all and you are frightened to solve these delicate problems. You also don’t want to be without your partner, because you are frightened to be alone.
In these cases, your partner will ALWAYS notice (or feel) your weakness. In case of pregnancy, some men don’t feel sexually attracted to the woman and don’t tell her about it. Of course, no woman would be happy to hear that, but we are talking about the essential element of love: the trust.
So the woman will feel the weakness of the man and, without even being conscious of it, they will start to worry about the future of her family.
The weakness of the man not to talk about his feelings not only brings the trust and the relationship in danger, but also raises questions in the woman’s mind if he will be a good father.
These unconscious thoughts of the pregnant woman can easily lead to panic attacks.
The women suffering from panic attacks aren’t self-confident and are afraid of the failure of their relationship.
One of the keys to solve cure these attacks is to build up trust by honestly talking about our feelings. Don’t forget that this is the most essential element of love and if you let the trust die, you cannot save your relationship.
I didn’t experience attacks while I was pregnant; however I think that the cure for panic and anxiety could help in this case too, with the condition that you do everything in you power to build up and keep trust in your relationship.
